While straightening hair should be a very simple task, any woman would tell you it’s not. The way you straighten your hair will depend on several things. Mainly the type of hair you have. And just like women come in all shapes and sizes, so does their hair. But don’t worry, with this article I am going to give you some very simple tips on how to straighten your hair.
Tip #1 – Deep condition your hair on a regular basis. By doing so your hair will be healthier. After you straighten it make sure you use a good detangling product on it.
Tip #2 – If you want your straightened tresses to remain healthy and last a long time, use silicone serum on your hair.
Tip #3 – Too much heat on your hair can cause some serious damage. So use your straightening iron sparingly. Everyday is way too much.
Tip #4 – When blow drying your hair to get it straight make sure you use a protective product. Your blow dryer should not only get hot by also have a strong air flow. If you blow dry your hair on a regular basis be sure to use a weekly treatment to prevent it from getting too dry.
Tip # 5 – If your hair is colored you might not want to use a straightener. When you combine the chemicals used to color the hair along with heat, that is a recipe for some serious damage.
Tip #6 – If you aren’t sure if a straightener will work on your hair consider going to a professional hairdresser. They will take a test strand to see if your hair can remain in good condition when using a chemical straightener. If they say no take their advice and don’t do it.
Tip #7 – If you already have straight hair and you want to blow it out, apply a straightening balm and that should do the trick.
Tip #8 – Know what kind of brush to use. If you want bone straight hair, use a paddle brush. If you want a softer finish use a round brush.
There are of course many other tips that can help you when it comes to straightening your hair. Just know that all hair is different and will require different treatments. Find out what works best for your hair before you do anything.
